Increased Urination At Night with Polycystic Kidney Disease

Polycystic Kidney Disease with increased urination at night wakes up more frequently than usual, in order to urinate during the night. Depending on how much fluid a person drinks during the day, most people urinate every 4 to 6 hours during the night.

Symptoms that occur with increased urinary frequency at night may include a sensation of bladder fullness, increased urge to urinate, urinary incontinence, pain during urination, blood in the urine, lower abdominal pain, low back pain, or flank pain.

The treatment for increased urination at night depends on the underlying cause. Treatment for increased urination at night may include medications that relax the bladder.

Eat a mostly low-fat diet full of fruits and vegetables, which are high in helpful antioxidants. Plant proteins also help lower blood pressure and may help slow the growth of kidney cysts.

Reduce or eliminate animal proteins. Limit animal products to occasional broths, poultry, fish, low-fat cheese and egg whites, keeping quantities to 3 oz. per day or less.Avoid excess amounts of salt, which causes your blood pressure to rise.

Consume a diet rich in whole grains, vegetables and fruit, along with limiting consumption of trans and saturated fats wherever possible. A balanced meal should include a protein source, a fruit, a vegetable, a whole grain and some healthy unsaturated fats.

Does Everyone with PKD Develop Kidney Failure

No. About 50 percent of people with PKD will have kidney failure by age 60, and about 60 percent will have kidney failure by age 70. People with kidney failure will need dialysis or a kidney transplant. Certain people have an increased risk of kidney failure including:

men

patients with high blood pressure

patients with protein or blood in their urine

women with high blood pressure who have had more than three pregnancies

Exercise recommended for PKD

Absolutely. However, exercises that are potentially harmful to the kidney, such as contact sports, should be avoided. It is important not to become too dehydrated during any physical activity.

The Tips for Diabetes Patients

The incidence of diabetes is rapidly increasing. Each year, thousands of people are newly diagnosed with diabetes. Besides the medications, people also need to learn self-care to keep healthy. This article aims to provide some tips for diabetes patients.

1. Choose a good doctor with rich experience of diabetes. You need to keep close contact with your doctor often telling him your illness condition and then receiving the proper treatment.
2. Learn more about diabetes. You need to learn some information about diabetes by the books or lectures so that you can improve your ability to prevent the diabetes.

3. Keep the reports of illness. When you go to see a doctor, you had better to tell the doctor your illness history and present condition and present the reports so that doctor can get the general information about your condition, which is helpful for you and your doctor to give a better diagnosis and treatment.

4. Often go for tests. You had better to buy a machine for glucose to monitor the blood sugar by yourself. You need to monitor the fasting blood-glucose and blood sugar after the meals. According to the change of blood sugar, you need to adjust the diet and the dosage of medicines. The treatment of diabetes is lifelong thing. The good cooperation between patient and doctor is a guarantee of good prognosis.

5. Regular physical examination. You can do a physical examination each year or half a year. The early detection of diabetic complication can effectively delay the aggravation of diabetes. Control blood sugar to make sure that blood sugar can be at the normal level. In daily life, protect liver and kidneys and do not take the medicines which are toxic to the kidneys and liver. Skin and foot is also the focus you need to pay more attention to. Prevent infection and complications.

Diabetes is not serious but the complications like kidney disease, eye problems, heart problems, nerve disease are life-threatening. So the self-care is very important for diabetes patients. If you have any other questions about diabetes, you can consult the experts online. We are glad to help you!

Can Diabetes Be Cured?

Q: I am diagnosed with Diabetes type 2. After panic, I calm down and attend some public speaking about diabetes. I got that complications make diabetes horrible. In my mind, the most horrible is Uremia related to diabetes. I want to now, once present, can Diabetes be cured?

A: Diabetes kidney disease belongs to one of the diabetic complication. Strict therapy of control blood sugar is suggested to be reversible for patients in the Stage I and Stage II theoretically. However, diabetes is asymptomatic in clinic, it is hard to be found. Once stage III presents, it can not be cured theoretically. As a result, once diagnosed with diabetes, patients should pay enough attention in preventions of Diabetic Nephropathy. They should take tests and examinations regularly, in order to find and treat it as soon as possible. The following are several advices for preventions.

1. Control the level of blood sugar, blood pressure and blood fat and try your best to approach the normal range.

2. Once proteinuria presents, talk to your doctor and take measures as soon as possible.

3. Do not take medicines and foods which are harmful for kidneys. Prevent infections, poisoning and anoxia.

4. Take Natural Chinese Therapy which shows great effects in remedying diabetes patients, especially for patients who have already stepped into stage III. However, once diabetes develops into Stage IV or Stage V, it is difficult to achieve a remarkable effect.

What are the Functions of Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy

As an innovative therapy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy has been applied in our hospital for many years to treat a wide range of kidney diseases effectively. The functions of the Chinese herbal remedy include four aspects: expanding blood vessels, anti-inflammation, anti-coagulation, and degradation. Continue reading to learn more about this popular treatment.

● Expanding blood vessels

Through expanding all kinds of renal arteries, we can improve the perfusion of the glomeruli, reduce the glomeruli's inner pressure, and decrease the high filtration state of the glomeruli. In this way, we can control and delay the progression of glomerular sclerosis.

By expanding peripheral blood vessels, the general blood circulation throughout the whole body can be increased, and the obstacles of the skin and microcirculation can be improved. Therefore, various poisoning symptoms of Renal Failure can be remitted.

This therapy can also expand the gastrointestinal blood vessels so as to enhance the blood perfusion of digestive tract and eliminate the obstacles in the tract. In this case, edema of digestive tract will disappear, secretion of gastrointestinal liquid can be increased, and the digestive tract remove the toxins gradually.

● Anti-inflammation

Active substances contained in Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy can release series of inflammatory mediators and renal toxic factors and prevent the phenotypic transformation of renal intrinsic cells. Through inhibiting the inflammatory response, we can prevent the infiltration of inflammatory cells, the release of inflammatory mediators and toxic factors. Through stopping the phenotypic transformation of renal intrinsic cells, we can protect the healthy and remaining functional nephrons, and block the progression of the renal injury.

● Anti-coagulation

Special material of Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy can take effect to invigorate the blood circulation and release pressure of veins, thus improving the general micro-circulation and alleviated the renal ischemia and anoxia.

In this condition, the diseased capillary endothelial cells get repaired and synthesized.
They can produce series of factors including ON, PGI2, bradykinin and so on. Meanwhile, the synthesis and secretion of PDGF, TXA2, and ET - 1 can be inhibited, its activity is inactivated, and platelet adhesion and accumulation gets inhibited. Therefore, the function of dissolving microthrombuses is realized, so the effects of depressurization, anticoagulation, anti-thrombus and protecting the remaining kidney tissues get achieved.

● Degradation

After getting into the kidneys, special ingredients of Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy will become integrated with myofibroblast and extracellular matrix (ECM), and then release effective medicine ingredients to attack, broke, degrade and discharge them out of the body. Besides, the synthesis of renal degrading enzymes can be promoted, and its activity gets enhanced. Then it can degrade the ECM, prevent renal injury, repair impaired glomeruli, tubules and renal interstitium. As a result, we can repair the renal damage caused by hypertension completely.

How to Treat Edema

With the development of the disease of Polycystic Kidney Disease, some patients have the symptom of edema.

Then what are the causes of edema? How to treat renal edema?

As we all know that kidney is an important organ to eliminate the water and sodium in the human body. When the people have kidney disease, the excretion of the kidney will be declined, which will lead to the retention of the water and sodium in the human body. The specific causes of the renal edema includes the following aspects:

①, the decline of glomerulus filtration function;

②, the change of permeability of systematic blood capillary, which will cause that the water entry the tissue space;

③, the decrease of plasma albumin, which will cause the decrease of plasma osmotic pressure;

④, the decrease of effective blood volume, which will lead to the increase of aldosterone

Then how can we treat the renal edema? As for treatment of renal edema, we mainly adopt Micro-Chinese Medicine Osomtherapy, which has the functions of activating the function of renal intrinsic cells, reversing and recovering the normal cell metabolism, improving the obstruction of microcirculation of the damaged kidney, proving aerobic environment for the repairing and promoting the repairing of the damaged kidney. in addition, this type of therapy possesses two curative effects, the first one is: expand the vessels on the vascular wall surround the polycystic kidney disease, accelerate the blood circulation of cyst wall, promote the permeability of cyst wall, promote the inner press decrease of cyst wall vessels, reverse the differential pressure caused by intravascular pressure higher than intracapsular pressure, accelerate the vessels resorption of the cyst liquid. The second one is: the active substance of Micro-Chinese Medicine can restrain the secretion of cyst wall epithelial cell; prevent the continue expanding of bursa wall vessels and cyst.

By this, this therapy can treat the symptom of edema fundamentally. At the same time, this therapy can control the progression the disease of Polycystic Kidney Disease.

If you need more information about the disease of polycystic kidney disease and the treatment, please contact us by email or consult us online.

Key Points to Protect Kidneys for Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease

1. Reasonable Diet. The diet for Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease should be light and they should eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. Consume chicken, fish, milk with low fat properly. Avoid consuming too much protein and salt. Avoid consuming sports beverage which contains extra electrolyte and salt.

2. Prevent infections. Take care of the weather change and prevent cold. Keep the waist warm in winter and do not make the waist too cool in summer. Take more exercise and improve the immunity of our body. Prevent the infection of urinary tract which can be caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia for men and pelvic cavity disease for women. Once getting infection, patients should receive treatment in time.

3. Be cautious with nephrotoxic medicines. Pain-killers, cold medicines and antibiotics can cause great damage to the function of kidneys and they should be used under the instruction of doctors; women should not take diet pill in abuse which can lead to Kidney Disease.

4. Receive treatment in time. Many people may develop Chronic Nephritis at a young age, but they do not have knowledge about it. Receive treatment in time when you have streptococcus infections in laryngeal and amygdale which might lead to Chronic Nephritis.

5. Be optimistic. Long time in bad mood and scare will damage the function of kidneys. To sleep and get up regularly and have a good rest. The good habit plays a very important role to keep healthy.

6. Well control blood sugar and blood pressure. Long time Diabetes and blood pressure out of control can cause vascular sclerosis because kidneys are composed of millions of capillaries. If blood sugar and blood pressure are not under control, the kidney can be damaged easily.

7. Prevent other diseases from damaging kidneys. Some diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Urinary Calculi, dehydration in a large amount, hemorrhage etc. --all can lead to the damage of kidneys.

Hope what we mentioned above is helpful, if you have other questions, please feel free to contact our online experts or send us email directly.

Severe Complications of Acute Glomerulonephritis in Children

Acute Glomerulonephritis is very common in children. The conventional treatments only focus on controlling blood pressure, eradicating infection etc. However, as its underlying cause is not eliminated, Acute Glomerulonephritis will cause a series of severe complications in children.

Hear failure

Heart failure is commonly seen in children with Acute Glomerulonephritis. They often present pulmonary congestion, liver enlargement, left heart failure or right heart failure etc. Also the children can be tested out to have noticeable enlargement of heart. These complications are related to the retention of fluid and sodium due to decreasing in glomerular filtration rate and endocrine abnormality. It usually occurs 1~2 weeks after the onset of Acute Glomerulonephritis.

Cerebropathy

The incidence of cerebropathy in children is 5~10%. The children with Acute Glomerulonephritis usually present headache, vomiting, somnolence. In severe case, they may have coma and convulsions. This may be associated with severe high blood pressure, cerebral edema or cerebrovascular spasm.

Acute Renal Failure

During the acute period of Acute Glomerulonephritis, the mesangial cells and endothelial cells have massive proliferation and even cresent formation, which can cause oliguria and even anuria and Acute Renal Failure.

Although most of the children can recover after proper treatment, some children may progress into Chronic Glomerulonephritis and finally End Stage Renal Failure. Therefore, the parents should not delay the effective treatment for their children.

What Are the Symptoms of Children Nephritis in the Early Stage

Children are usually easy to be affected by infection due to their low resistance. When children are infected with pathogenic bacteria, if they are not well treated, the infection may cause Children Nephritis. So it is very important for parents to recognize the early symptoms of Children Nephritis. Once they find out any abnormality with the symptoms, parents should take their children to hospital for timely treatment. Here are the early symptoms of Children Nephritis as follows:

1. Edema: edema of kidney disease is usually in eyelids, faces, which often disappears in afternoon and becomes slight after rest.

2. Too much or too little urine volume: in the normal condition, the 24-hour's urine volume for infant is 400 to 600ml, for preschoolers is 600 to 800ml, for school child is 800-1400ml. Any abnormal urine volume may be a sign of kidney disease.

3. Abnormal results of urine test: children with any abnormality of urine test such as protein in urine, red blood cell, white blood cell, urine glucose, they should be sent to hospital for a further test to find out the reason.

Other symptoms of Children Nephritis: they are usually accompanied with infection, fever. Their temperature can be as much as 40 centigrade. Besides, they may suffer headache. Children with Nephritis can have lumbago with dull pain, a few of them can have cramps directing from ureter to bladder.

Attentions please: children should be well taken cared of and once they are infected they should take positive treatment and prevent from Children Nephritis by paying attention to any abnormal symptoms. Once they are diagnosed with Children Nephritis, they should be well treated timely.

Characteristics of Acute Glomerularnephritis in Children

Acute Nephritis short for Acute Glomerularnephritis is a common disease among children. Knowing the characteristics of Acute Glomerularnephritis is very important to decrease the damage to the patients. Therefore, it is very necessary for the parents to learn more knowledge about Acute Glomerularnephritis in children.

First, Acute Glomerularnephritis often occurs after acute infection.

It usually occurs after acute infection, mainly streptococcal infection. It is mainly characterized with edema, decreased urine output, hematuria, and high blood pressure. In severe cases, the children may have serious circulatory congestion, heart failure, hypertensive encephalopathy, Acute Renal Failure and so on.

Second, winter is the peak season of Acute Glomerularnephritis.

Acute Glomerularnephritis is common among the children aging 5~10, but is rare in the children below 2 years old. Its incidence is higher in the boys with 2:1 in boys and girls. It often occurs in winter. Before the onset of the disease, most of the children have acute upper respiratory tract infection or skin infection. Tonsil inflammation is the most common cause of Acute Glomerularnephritis in children. Usually, it occurs within 3 weeks of the infection. Generally, the prognosis of the disease in children is good. However, in some cases, it can develop into Chronic Nephritis.

Third, health care for the children with Acute Glomerularnephritis.

In the early time of Acute Glomerularnephritis, the children need to stay in bed, which can decrease the pressure to hearts and improve heart function. Once cardiac blood output increases, the renal plasma flow will also increase. It can alleviate retention of water and sodium and other potential complications. Therefore, the parents should know the important of rest for the children. Generally, the children need to stay in bed for two weeks. When edema disappears, the blood pressure recovers normal and gross hematuria disappears, the children can have proper activity.

Fourth, diet for children with Acute Glomerularnephritis

(1)In the acute period, the children will have decreased urine output thus causing edema. Therefore, at that time, the intake of salt should be limited within 1~2 grams per day.

(2) If the children have serious edema, decreased urine output, they should decrease the water intake. The amount of water intake should not exceed 400 ml than the urine output of the previous day.

(3) The children with Acute Glomerularnephritis should limit the protein intake. The metabolic product of protein is mainly excreted out of body by kidneys. In the early stage of Acute Glomerularnephritis, the children’ renal function usually decreases to some extent so the metabolic product of protein can not be excreted out of body normally. Therefore, the children should decrease the protein intake properly.

How to Effectively Prevent from Children Nephritis

Children Nephritis generally refers to Glomerulonephritis, which is a kind of kidney disease with bilateral kidneys diffuse damage without fester. Children among the ages of 6 to 9 are easily to be attacked by Children Nephritis after their being infected upper respiratory tract of bacterium or virus. However, Children Nephritis is not directly caused by renal inflammation but a series of autoimmune response after the body infected by virus or bacterium. In clinic, Children Nephritis mainly represents edema, oligurie, blood urine and Hypertension, the course of which is about 4 to 6 weeks. Besides, summer and autumn are the prevalent seasons of Children Nephritis. Then, how to prevent Children Nephritis?

One, take care of children's skin health: children should often take a bath to keep skin clean and prevent from impetigo. Besides, children should frequently change clothes and be protected from bites of mosquito or insects and skin inflammation. In addition, children should take urine test one to three times every week in the first three weeks after their recovery from impetigo, which can help to find out whether there is renal damage or not.

Two, children should wear clothes according to whether and protect themselves from Children Nephritis caused by cold. Moreover, they should keep away from those who have symptoms of cold because most streptococcus of pharyngitis is infective.

Three, for children who suffer repeat tonsillitis, they should take tonsillectomy

Four, children should take a balanced diet, take exercises to enhance resistance and live a healthy life.

All of parents should pay attention to prevent children from Children Nephritis and help them build up healthy habits. Once they suffer from Children Nephritis, they should take positive treatment.

Can You Live Long With 10% Kidney Function

When only 10% of kidney function is left, they are in the stage of end stage of kidney disease. Many people have been taking on dialysis for some time. However, they have found that the kidney function has no improvement under this treatment. If their kidney function gradually fades, they would face death. Is it possible for them to live long with 10% kidney function?
Improvement of kidney function is essential for them

When people only have 10% kidney function, they are always in the cliff of death. So patients need to improve kidney function greatly in order to keep a long life. Most of them only have dialysis as their only treatment. However, dialysis does nothing to repair kidney tissues but would wilt the kidneys gradually. So people need other therapy to improve kidney tissues.

Immunotherapy is one of the best treatments to satisfy the need of patients. It contains six steps to form a very comprehensive therapy for patients. Among them, immune regulation can solve the problems caused by immunoreaction. Most of kidney function loss is caused by the renal inflammation. It adopts Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy to help dilate the blood vessels, accelerate the microcirculation and resist the inflammation in kidney tissues. Furthermore, it also can regulate the coordination between all the organs and tissues, which can help to form a good immune system to fight against inflammation and save the damaged cells.

What is more, people also would receive immune protection in this therapy. Only repair of damaged cells cannot give a great promotion for kidney function. So they also need Immunotherapy to improve kidney function. We know drugs only recur the sick cells and turn them to normal, but it does nothing to survive the dead ones. Immunotherapy can attract the phagocyte to swallow dead one and produce new tissues to replace them. So in this way people would get a better kidney function and they are hopeful to cast off dialysis and have a normal life span.

Treatment for Acute Glomerulonephritis in Children

Acute Glomerulonephritis is very common for children in daily life. For it may develop into several step, parents are worried about children with acute glomerulonephritis. After all, what is acute glomerulonephritis in children? How to treat it?

Acute glomerulonephritis in children

It is very common in children between 3 and 12 years old. Before this disease, children always have pharyngitis, pustulosis scrumpox impetigo, amygdalitis, scarlatina or other infections. During the infection, a large amount of immune complexes (combination of antigen and antibody) have been produced in the blood. So immune complexes have a high risk to deposit in the kidney tissues and arouse a sudden and serious kidney inflammation. So children’s kidneys have been greatly damaged.

Typical symptoms of acute glomerulonephritis in children

When children’s kidney function has been reduced, they often have some symptoms below.
1. Swelling. Children have obvious swelling in eyelids and then the swelling will present in other parts of the body, such as lower limps, back or the whole body.

2. Their blood pressure would rise high or keep normal.

3. Some children have less urine and some have blood in urine. The hematuria presents in pink or deep brown urine.

4. Children would have fever, headache, dizzy, pain on back or fatigue etc.

How to treat acute glomerulonephritis in children?

In our hospital, we adopt the combination of western and Chinese medicine. For western medicine is very effective to remit some symptoms immediately, it is very suitable to put off the acute glomerulonephritis in order to reduce the risk to have other complications. However, it has many side effects for children and may affect their growth. So we use Chinese medicine to remove the side effects of western medicine. Besides, Chinese medicine can promote the kidney tissues rebuilding through providing more blood and oxygen for them. After the comprehensive treatment, children’s illness condition will not relapse and they will keep healthy. In our hospital, Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is the evolution of traditional Chinese medicine and can give a better effect.

When your children have acute glomerulonephritis in children, you had better not to be anxious but try your best to choose a suitable treatment for them. Hope your girl or boy will be better!

Can Nephritis Patients Be Married and Get Pregnant

Can Nephritis patients get married? Clinically, many Chronic Nephritis patients have got married. Some unmarried patients worry about that weather the illness condition will be worse or pass on to next generation or not when they get married. In fact, Chronic Nephritis is not a kind of hereditary disease. But as for patients with Renal Insufficiency, their children may have a poor physical quality. Thus, this kind of patients had better not give birth to baby.

Chronic Nephritis usually comes from acute one. It has a long disease process and the illness condition is complicated and changeable. The kidney function of this disease patients declines relatively. So it is important to actively take a treatment and control the disease. Chronic Nephritis patients have a poor constitution. The illness condition becomes more complicated and worse after the marriage. Although kidney disease doesn’t belong to hereditary disease, patients with Renal Insufficiency may influence their children. Thus, children have poor constitution and weak immune systems. In addition, they are more likely to get immunological disease. Even growing up, they may get ears and eyes disease and Nephritic Syndrome. The pathological characteristic is that these organs have pathological changes.

Patients with Chronic Nephritis should build confidence to conquer disease. Even though the symptoms are improved obviously, patients should also be alert to prevent the disease relapse. So before taking an effectively treatment, patients should not get married. Or the disease will damage your own and children’s health. Your family will lose happiness.

Therefore, before all the symptoms disappearing, various inspection data returning to normal level and consolidating the curative effect, Chronic Nephritis patients should not consider to get married. Even the indexes of proteins, erythrocytes, white blood cells and tubular cells turn to negative; kidney function recover to normal level and there is no positive signs in human body, patients should also not anxious to get married. They should take care of themselves and keep a healthy diet. what’s more, they should take some appropriate activities so that to improve the body constitution and prevent the disease relapse. It is not late to build a family after a complete recovery. There is no doubt that it is good for yourself and children. Experts suggest Chronic Nephritis patients consult doctor weather they can be married and get pregnant after a long time stable healthy condition.

As for Chronic Nephritis patients, the most important thing is to take a scientific treatment which can block the process of kidney fibrosis from the root and repair the damaged renal intrinsic cells. Thus, the disease can be treated effectively. Patients should treat the symptoms and then the disease, because the symptoms can disappear after the disease can be treated well. At present, patients can take the combination treatment of Traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy and Immunotherapy can block the process of kidney fibrosis from the root by dilating blood vessels, anti-inflammation, anticoagulation and degradation. This characteristic therapeutic treatment can play the role of blocking and repair. Finally, the disease can be treated effectively.

Does Edema Mean the Disease of Nephritis

When body liquid redundantly accumulates in intercellular space of subcutaneous tissue and soft tissues, the clinical condition will display edema which presents obvious hollow when the part with less subcutaneous tissue is pressed.

Edema is a common symptoms of pathological process, the body liquid of which comes from plasma and has almost the same proportion of sodium and water with plasma.

Generally, excessive body liquid's accumulating in coelom is called hydrops such as hydrothorax, Celiac hydrops and hydrocardia, etc. Generally speaking, edema is usually a sign of disease which often can lead to edema. But not all of edema means nephritis and edema is not the specific characteristic of kidney disease, which can be caused by other reasons such as cardiac edema, hepatic edema, nutritional edema, medical edema and idiopathic edema, etc.

Apart from that, for some people they can have edema of part or all over the body with no abnormality found out. This is because that some edema occurs without disease and it is the result of the body's accommodation to its status, internal and external environment, which is clinically called functional edema.

There are some details for different kinds of edema as follows:

One, edema occurs during traveling. Edema occurs during a long trip or long time of walk, which is caused by the increased filtration pressure of acral capillary when the limbs under the knees stand for a long time and the return of blood in vein suffocates as a result of gravity.

Two, edema caused by high temperature. It is more common to woman in clinic. This kind of edema often occurs in summer or hot environment and can repeat for many years, which often appears on hands, feet with slight hollow and accompanys weakness and anorexia. Besides, edema can automatically disappear after summer or when leaving hot environment.

Three, edema caused by insomnia. People who can not fall asleep for a long time in night will have edema on face, eyelids and hands, etc when they get up next morning. But this kind of edema can automatically disappear after movement.

Four, edema when people get up in the morning. When people are asleep, the movement of eyelids will reduce, the blood will flow slowly and the liquid in blood will enter into the loosen tissue of eyelid, which will lead to edema.

Edema can be caused by many factors of physiology or pathology, people should carefully check whether there is some other abnormality nor not and do some tests to find out the real reason.

If you have more questions please consult our experts on line.

Infection Prevention is The Key to Decrease the Incidence of Nephritis

Nephritis is caused by immunity disturbance. Especially, in most cases of Acute Nephritis, it is resulted from infections, mainly acute streptococcus infection.

Nephritis is a common disease all over the world. Most of them occur after streptococcus infections such as upper respiratory tract infection and impetigo. In the period of scarlatina period, the incidence of Nephritis is higher then the usual days. Although the patients with Acute Nephritis can recover their renal function in a short time, its prognosis in long term is not clear yet. Acute Nephritis is common among the adults. Compared with the child patients, they have poorer prognosis, longer disease process and recover more slowly. In many cases, the diseases progress slowly into Chronic Nephritis or Chronic Renal Failure. Therefore, improving immunity and resistance against infection is the key to prevent Nephritis.

Therefore, all of us should strengthen physical activity so as to improve our immunity. Moreover, changing clothes properly, keeping a good mood, and developing a good daily habit and so on are also can improve our resistance against infections. For the patients with Nephritis, they should be cautious when keep proper amount of exercise based on their own disease condition. In the acute period of the disease, they should mainly stay in bed. In this way, it can decline the burden to both of their heart and kidneys.

Moreover, with the technological development, air-condition, heater and so on improve our life quality so greatly. As we all stay in the unnatural environment, it decreases our resistance against the invasion of virus and bacterium. For example, in the environment of air-condition, the air circulation are sluggish, which is very likely to cause bacterial growth thus leading to infection.
Keeping a good mood plays an important role in improving immunity. Therefore, all the patients with Nephritis should keep optimistic and hold confidence in defeating their disease. Moreover, they should develop a healthy daily habit, having enough sleep, proper diet and so on.

If we can do our best to avoid infection, we will be able to decrease the incidence of Nephritis greatly.

Latent Nephritis: Pathology ,Symptoms, Treatment

Latent Nephritis is also called asymptomatic hematuria and/ or proteinuria. Generally, it is not complicated with swelling, high blood pressure or renal function damage. In most cases, Laten Nephrits is inspected out in physical examination. Most of the patients do not have obvious symptoms or signs. Only a part of the patients have back pain, fatigue, gross hematuria or other typical symptoms.

Pathology of Latent Nephritis

The pathlogical changes in Latent Nephritis are usually mild like mininal change, mild mesangial proliferative glomerular nephritis and focal segmental glomerular nephritisn etc. According to the pathlogical changs, mesangial proliferative glomerular nephritis can be divided into IgA Nephropathy and non-IgA Nephropathy.

Clinical symptoms of Latent Nephritis

Asymptomatic hematuria

Persistent microscopic hematuria and/or frequently occuring gross hematuria are the main clinical sympoms of Latent Nephritis. It mainly occurs among the adults without asymptomatic symptoms and signs. In most of cases of Latent Nephritis, microscopic hematuria is inspected out in physical examination.

The microscopic hematuria featured with persistence and frequent occurrences. A part of the patients may have transient gross hematuria, but it often disappears in a very short time.

Asymptomatic proteinuria

The proteinuria is usually persistent. The amount of urine protein is less than 2g/d mainly albumin. The patients with Latent Nephritis usually are not accompanied by swelling, high blood pressure and the renal function is generally normal. The blood test usually does not show abnormalities. Asymptomatic proteinuria can last for several years. For the patients with hematuria and proteinuria, their prognosis is usually poor that those with hematuria along.

Conventional therapy

1. The patients with Latent Nephritis should take regular tests including urine test, renal function test and high blood pressure test.

2. Protect renal function and avoid the factors that may cause damage to kidneys

3. If the frequnetly occuring tonsillitis is closely associated with hematuria and proteinuria, the patients should take extirpate tonsillitis.

4. For the patients with much proteinuria, they should use ACEI group.

Renal Fibrosis in Chronic Nephritis

Renal fibrosis is a kind of pathological changing process, in which the kidneys are damaged gradually until the kidneys fail completely. Renal fibrosis is an important cause in causing Chronic Nephritis progression.

In Chronic Nephritis, various causes cause renal injury and releasing of inflammatory factors resulting in inflammatory response and enhanced cellar activity. As the renal functional cells get more damage, the cells begin to have phenotypic transformation and ossify and lose function gradually. This is the early stage of renal fibrosis, in which more than half of the renal function still keeps normal so the patients do not present obvious symptoms yet. If the renal fibrosis process is not inhibited effectively, the renal function will keep declining further. When the renal fibrosis approaches to the middle stage, the levels of creatinine, BUN etc will rise obviously. With the progression of renal fibrosis, more and more nephrons lose their normal function. When the residual nephrons are less than 15%, the disease develops into End Stage Renal Failure, namely Uremia. In this stage, nearly all nephrons are ossified. In clinic, the patients will have a series of serious complications like brain disease, heart disease, systemic poisoning symptoms etc.

From the above we can see that if the Chronic Nephritis can not be controlled effectively in its early stage, it will activate the renal fibrosis. Further more, if the renal fibrosis can not be blocked, it will cause the renal function to decline gradually. The key to prevent Renal Failure is to block renal fibrosis.

As the inflammatory response is the primary cause of renal fibrosis, the patients should firstly take relevant treatment to prevent the releasing of the inflammatory factors. In this way, they will be able to prevent Chronic Nephritis from developing into Renal Failure.

Does Nephritis Relapse after a Kidney Transplant

In China, 70 percent end-stage renal disease results from glomerulonephritis. Apart from the hereditary nephritis syndrome, polycystic kidney disease (PKD), chronic nephropyelitis and chronic interstitial glomerulonephritis, almost all types of kidney disease could relapse after a kidney transplant. But there is no need to worry too much. Less than 5 percent transplanted kidneys are lost. Here are the types of kidney disease which are likely to relapse.

FSGS (focal segmental glomerulosclerosis). It has a high relapse rate in people with severe clinical manifestations. Approximate 50 percent will relapse after a kidney transplant.

IgA nephropathy. It has a much higher relapse rate after a kidney transplant. 80 percent patients suffer from the deposition of IgA in the mesangial region. The clinical manifestations are rare and less than 10% transplanted kidneys are lost.

Crescent nephropathy. Although there are successful cases in patients with positive glomerular basement membrane antibody, kidney transplant is performed after the antibody disappears in order to reduce the relapse rate.

Secondary glomerular nephritis. Kidney transplant is performed after all the indicators such as C3 and C4 are normal with small amount of glucocorticoid. Routine biopsy shows that the relapse rate in histology is as high as 35% but the clinical relapse is only 1%. More important, SLE patients are likely to develop phlebothrobosis and arterial thrombus.

Purpura nephritis. It relapse in patients who had the active purpura 8 months before kidney transplant. The relapse rate is as high as 75 percent but the maninfasation relapse rate is low.
Generally, consider it seriously if the relapse rate is higher.

What is Wrong If I Have an Elevated Creatinine Level

Creatinine refers to a chemical waste product in the blood that passes through the kidneys to be filtered and excrete in urine. The chemical waste is a by-product of normal muscle contractions. People who have chronic kidney disease (CKD) may suffer from high creatinine. So how does this occur?

CKD appear when the kidneys becomes damaged and are no longer able to properly filter waste and extra fluid out of the blood through urine. You will develop raised creatinine levels when the glomerular filtration mechanism becomes gradually damaged.

The higher the level is, the more damage there may be to the kidneys. A level greater than 1.50 mg/dl for male and 1.10 mg/dl for female is abnormal and may indicate kidney disease. For adult patients, dialysis is recommended when the number reach 10.0 mg/dl; for babies with chronic kidney disease, dialysis is recommended when the level is 2.0 mg/dl.

Symptoms of raised creatinine level

Symptoms are the same as Renal Failure symptoms. In some cases, people find out they have kidney failure without feeling any discomforts at all. Yet some persons may experience the following:

▪ Weakness, or fatigue

▪ Confusion

▪ Shortness of breath

▪ Dehydration

As the kidneys becomes increasing unable to cope, your disease will deteriorate. So it is necessary to find an effective treatment to repair the damaged filtration membrane and restore the kidney function so as to avoid dialysis.

As one of the largest kidney disease specialized hospital all over the world, we apply the most advanced immunotherapy, Immunotherapy, and Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy to help patients treat kidney disease from the root. This is a general introduction, more detailed information is available in our website, or you can consult our online service for free.

The Common Sense of Renal Insufficiency

Renal Insufficiency, also called Renal Failure, is the final result of varieties of progressive kidney diseases. If the kidney diseases can not be brought under control, most of them will develop into Renal Insufficiency. Renal Insufficiency can be subdivided into Chronic Renal Insufficiency and Acute Renal Insufficiency. Acute Renal Insufficiency is often caused by shortage of blood supply in kidneys, renal obstruction or harm of toxin. In contrast, Chronic Renal Insufficiency occurs due to the long-term renal pathological change. As the disease develops, the renal function declines.

There are many causes which lead to Renal Insufficiency including Primary Glomerular Nephritis, Diabetic Nephropathy, Hypertensive Nephropathy, Renal Interstitial Tubular Nephropathy and PCK (Polycystic Kidney Disease) etc.

In the early stage of Renal Insufficiency, patients with Renal Insufficiency can not feel any symptoms and the only way to find out the renal abnormality is through test. So it is important to take a regular kidney test for people who may be likely to have kidney disease or have family history of kidney disease.

As the disease develops, the toxin in patients’ blood build up so that patients with Renal Insufficiency feel weak, easily get tired and lag in response. As the toxin in blood build up, patients may have symptoms of muscle and nerve system such as muscle weakness, crick and cramp. At this moment, there will be sting-like pain in four extremities and even some parts of body may feel numb. If the blood pressure in patients with Renal Insufficiency is too high and the toxin in blood builds up too much, it may lead to Brain Dysfunction.

Chronic Renal Insufficiency can lead to sexual failure. Statistics shows that about 90% of men with Uremia have problem with sex.

Once people have Renal Insufficiency, they have to treat it timely and effectively with active attitude. For patients with Renal Insufficiency, their kidneys are damaged which lead to the symptoms of Renal Insufficiency. To treat it effectively, we have to restore the damaged renal cells and protect the healthy renal cells. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy can restore the damaged renal cells. At the same time, it can provide an easier environment for the further treatment—Immunotherapy. Immunotherapys have the strong self-renewing ability. It means that the Immunotherapy can regenerate a large amount of daughter cells which have the same characteristic as those original Immunotherapy. Then these daughter Immunotherapy can differentiate into renal functional cells to replace the necrotic renal cells. Therefore, the renal function can recover extremely to some extent. Of course, the curative effect depends on the illness condition.

Novel Treatments for Blood in Urine of IgA Nephropathy

IgA Nephropathy, also known as Berger's Disease or IgA Nephritis, is the commonest of a group of conditions called glomerulonephritis. Individuals with IgAN may have varied amount of the IgA sticking in the kidneys due to immune dysfunction, which may cause inflammation and stop the kidneys working properly. The most common symptom of this disease is episodes of blood in urine (haematuria). Is there any novel treatments for this condition?

Treatment for blood in urine of IgAN should be on the basis of an accurate diagnosis through specific tests, such as hematuria localization. This test can help us identify the exact cause of this symptom.

Hematuria localization test

▪ Glomerular hematuria. Flow urinary sediment non-uniformity red blood cells; urinary red blood cells form deformation (red blood cells>75%); ALB/UTP 0.73±0.11.

▪ Non-Glomerular hematuria. Flow urinary sediment uniformity red blood cells; urinary red blood cells form deformation (red blood cells<50%); ALB/UTP 0.41±0.14.

▪ Mixed hematuria. Both non-uniformity and uniformity red blood cells are detected in the urine.
With the above test, we can see whether patient's glomeruli is damaged or not. For patients with glomerular imapirment, the novel therapy -- Immunotherapy can help to repair the kidney damage and rectify the immune dysfunction. Specific treatments of Immunotherapy may involves:

Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, which can clear up the IgA deposits, thus avoiding further glomerular damage. In addition, it can benefit the process of kidney repair.

● Medicated bath. Through the skin the ingredients of herbs can be absorbed into blood, tissues and organs. The body tissues can be regulated and the body's immunity get improved.

● Mai Kang He Ji. This is a special Chinese medicine that can function to replenish vital energy and nourish blood. The immune disorder can be corrected and regulation of immune system gets achieved.

If you are afflicted by recurrent blood in urine of IgAN, you can try our innovative therapy. For more information, you can send an email to kidneyfailurecn@hotmail.com or Contact Online.

FSGS: Lower High Creatinine Level in Natural Ways

The creatinine is the end products of creatine in muscle. Too much consumption of meat can produce more creatinine in blood. Therefore, the patients should limit their daily intake of meat strictly.

Strenuous exercise can accelerate the metabolism of creatine in muscle thus producing more creatine in body. This will inevitably put much strain on kidneys when it is excreted by kidneys. So the patients with FSGS should avoid strenuous exercise and take part in aerobic exercise jogging, bicycling, swimming etc.

Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy

Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy can remove creatinine and other metabolic wastes in blood thus lowering high creatinine in FSGS. Meanwhile, it can restore the impaired kidney tissues and recover the excretory function of the kidneys.

① Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is an external therapy. When it is performed on body, it can open up pores. A part of toxins in body can be passed out of body through pores.

② The effective medicines can dilate systemic blood vessels and improve microcirculation in kidneys. Therefore, it can boost the excretion of metabolic wastes thus lowering high creatinine level.

③ Micro-Chinese medicine can activate the reproduction of DNA of the impaired renal functional cells, thus restoring the injured kidneys.

Will UTI Cause High Creatinine in Chronic Kidney Failure

Creatinine is a waste product produced by the muscles through normal contraction. In Chronic Kidney Failure, blood levels of creatinine, metabolic waste products that are normally filtered out by the kidneys, are increased. In some cases, patients may wonder whether urinary tract infection will lead to high creatinine levels in Chronic Renal Failure. Continue reading to find an answer.

For individuals with Chronic Kidney Failure have approximately 3 times greater chance of getting infectious complications, such as UTI. Though kidney dysfunction is the main cause of high creatinine levels, a urinary tract infection may also cause higher levels of creatinine. Moreover, UTI will aggravate the effects of renal failure. So, it is necessary to take effective precautions of UTI as below.

▪ Wear cotton underwear and panty hose with a cotton crotch, as cotton allows air to pass in and out so as to keep the crotch area drier. This is helpful in preventing the flourishing of bacteria in this area.

▪ Females are advised to wipe from front to back. By doing this, we can reduce the risk of bacteria's spreading from anus into the urinary tract.

▪ Urinate before and after sexual intercourse.

▪ Eat some natural diuretics to help flush out the system such as watermelon, parsley, and celery. Besides, take some vitamin C which can help raise the acidity level in the urine, making it harder for bacteria to reproduce.

In western medicine, antibiotics are often used to treat UTI. However, these medicines have their own side effects, such as yeast infections.

Patients have other better choice of natural remedy, such as dandelion. It increases urine flow and the tea made from it flushed the urinary system. Ask our online experts or your doctor about any natural therapy that is suitable for your personalized condition.

NAME: Li Xin

COUNTRY: Shaanxi Province, China

AGE: 43 years old

GENDER: Female

DIAGNOSIS: Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), CKD 4 stage, Renal Hypertension, Renal Anemia

CONDITION BEFORE TREATMENT

Mrs. Li suffered from intermittent swelling legs for five years. She also experienced fatigue as well as abnormal kidney function for 3 months. Her swelling legs appeared with no obvious incentives in 2007. No rash, no joint pains. Li Xin sought for treatment in local hospital and the report showed that her protein urine was 2+, while the occult blood was +. The doctor prescribed her some Chinese medicines and no improvement. Mrs. Li then went to a major hospital in Xi’an City in 2009. According to the renal biopsy, she was diagnosed with FSGS. The main treatment was hormone medications. No therapeutic effect appeared either.

“I came to a hospital specialized in treating kidney disease in Xi’an in August 2009, still no improvements after receiving three-month treatment. I was overwhelmingly depressed and really tired of that.” said Mrs. Li.

The illness condition developed progressively and the lady developed serious fatigue. It was then his serum creatinine was 3.3mg/dL. “This is my last shot. I thought if still no improvement here, then I will quit!”, and that’s how Li Xin came to Kidney Disease Hospital.

START OF TREATMENT: February 19, 2012

TREATMENT FROM  KIDNEY DISEASE HOSPITAL

Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, 3 time/day, 45 min/time

Know about FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis)

The cause of Focal Segmental Glomeruloslerosis is still unknown, but affects one’s kidneys seriously. More often than not, FSGS is irreversible in most cases. This is because the disease causes urinary protein loss and eventually would develop scarring of glomeruli. The scarring develops in line with one’s illness condition and this is how they lost their kidney function in the end.

The types of FSGS

Primary and secondary Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis are the two types. In primary, the disease could develop as an isolated kidney disease, while in secondary, the disease can be caused by other reasons.

Who is most likely to develop Focal Segmental Glomeruloslerosis?

Well, the disease strikes of all ages. By my experience, the disease attacks more often in black people than white ones, more frequent in men than in women. Apart from these risk factors, drug abuser, people with HIV and AIDS are more likely to suffer from the disease. Obesity, urinary tract infection and other reasons are also responsible for the occurrence of FSGS.

How is it treated?

It is pretty hard for us to treat a patient with unknown kidney disease, because we don’t know what kind of medications we should use. Therefore, most of the treatments for FSGS patients focus on dealing with their symptoms and some of its complications. Pills will be given to help control high blood pressure; diuretics are usually used to remove excess fluid so as to relieve the swelling. What’s more, medications help reduce their protein leakage will be prescribed too.

More specific treatments will be used to treat the disease since it is related to one’s immune system. Immunotherapy, under such circumstance, is right for the disease. We usually adopt blood purification techniques in the first place so as to clear out those immune complexes and other foreign matters. After favorable internal environment is created, then Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy will be adopted to regulate his own immune system fundamentally. Other treatments are going to be used too. If you are interested, ask our online doctor for details.

Does FSGS Make You Thirsty

FSGS, or Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis refers to a condition in which parts of the kidney called glomeruli become scarred. People with FSGS often show no signs or symptoms of the disease unless progressive damage to the kidneys severely interferes with the normal kidney functions. Patients who have massive loss of renal function or Renal Failure will present excessive thirst. How to manage this problem?

When you feel thirsty, you may have a craving or desire to drink something. This is indicated by dryness in the throat and the mouth. Continued parched throat can cause dizziness and giddiness.
Therefore, it is necessary for you to take effective measures to deal with your thirsty. The following are some suggestions, and we hope that they can be helpful for you.

Firstly, restrict the intake of salt, since much salt intake will aggravate your frequency of thirst. Your kidneys have been damaged, so their function of removing fluid is impaired. Drinking much water will increase your risk for getting waster retention, which will aggravate the swelling or edema.

As for the specific amount of water, you are recommended to talk with your doctor or consult our online experts.

Secondly, you are advised to keep away from spicy foods like chilies, curry and hot sauces, etc.
Besides, it is necessary to have a low-protein diet and limit the intake of high-protein foods like beans and bean products. In addition, high potassium foods (like oranges, bananas, tomatoes, potatoes, peanuts), high phosphorus foods (like seafood), and fatty, greasy, and simulating foods (like beef, mutton, crabs, garlic, onions, parsley, wine, coffee, etc) should also be avoided. Stop smoking and drinking alcohol in order to have a better recovery of kidney function.

Alternative Treatments for FSGS Kidney Disease

FSGS Kidney Disease, or Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, is a kind of autoimmune disease. In this disease, the 'glomeruli', the tiny structures which filter the blood, become sclerosed. The general cause is immunological, which means immune dysfunction. Is there any effective therapy to rectify the immune dysfunction?

Nearly 95% of kidneys diseases occur due to abnormal immune system and low immune ability. In this case, the harmful foreign substances cannot be removed after they invade into our body. After combining with antibodies produced by the immune system, immune complex can be formed, which will circulate in the blood and then get deposited in the epithelia of glomeruli. With gradual accumulation of immune complex, our kidneys are damaged. Both the onset and progression of FSGS kidney disease are quick, and many patients will lead to Renal Failure during some years.

In 2012, the latest treatment for FSGS kidney disease is Immunotherapy. This systemic treatment include 6 steps, and several of them can be selected according to your individual illness.

1. An accurate diagnosis. Our hospital has brought the most advanced diagnostic technology and techniques, so we can make a systemic and comprehensive diagnosis of your current condition, and then adopt individual treatment.

2. Immune blocking. Deposits of immune complex will cause series of excess immune reaction, so in this step, exact dose of brand new immunosuppressive agents are used to inhibit the undue inflammation rapidly with no side effects.

3. Immune tolerance. So far, there is no effective medicines that can eliminate the immune complexes. It is necessary to make our body to co-exist with them temporarily with no further inflammatory response.

4. Immune regulation. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is utilised to promote the blood circulation, degrade the immune complex, and then remove them out the body. Moreover, Chinese prescription can be taken to improve the overall immunity.

5. Immune protection. Integrated Chinese - western medicines including glucocorticoid, orally taking Chinese medicine, and Immunotherapy are applied to repair the damaged kidneys and recover the renal functions.

6. Immune clearance. Advanced techniques such as immunoadsorption, plasma exchange and blood purification can help us eliminate the harmful substances in the blood completely.

This is a general introduction of immunotherapy. Is there still anything unclear? Please consult our online service.

Is It Possible to Restore Kidney Function of FSGS

Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is difficult to treat. Majority of patients with this disorder progress to ESRD over 5 to 20 years. In some cases, patients with an aggressive form of FSGS proceed to ESRD in 2 to 3 years. Conventional treatments involve steroids or other immunosuppressive drugs to help relieve the symptoms like Urine Protein. But these therapies fail to restore the overall renal function, so it is wise to find better comprehensive solutions.

FSGS is a kind of autoimmune disease mediated by immune cells. The infiltrating T cells in the glomeruli attack the kidney inherent cells directly or damage the epithelial cells by releasing vascular permeability factors. To treat this disease, we have to firstly control the immune reaction and at the same time remove the immune complex deposited in mesangial region.

For FSGS, the immune complex mainly consists of IgG and C3. This has been identified with series of immune tests. Only if we remove the immune complex deposited in the kidneys and recover the kidney function, can the disease be treated from the root. Otherwise, whenever we stop the steroids, the immune reaction will start again and the disease will relapse.

The fact is that, currently, there is not yet an effective medicine which can help us remove these deposits rapidly. Therefore, immune tolerance is developed to make our body temporarily co-exists with the immune complex so as to stop further inflammatory reaction. Small dose of immune blockers are given regularly to avoid the relapse of the disease. Besides, periodical evaluation of immune reaction in the kidneys can ensure the accuracy of immune blocking.

Immune tolerance is just a interim measure, in the following immune adjustment step, we will begin to remove the immune complex with Chinese medicines including oral medicine, Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, and medicated bath.

Chinese medicine for nourishing Qi and blood can be used to strengthen immunity. Moreover, Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is another therapy which can function to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Chinese medicine is micronized into one thousandths granules. With the action of the microwave, they can arrive directly at the renal lesions through skin and channels on the back. More important, this remedy can help us activate the self-healing ability of the kidneys and provide necessary nutrients at the same time to speed up the repair of damaged renal cells. Consequently, kidney function of FSGS will get restored over time.

FSGS: Is It an Immunological Disease

More than 95% of kidney diseases are immunological disease and FSGS is not an exception. In order to give suitable treatment, the diagnosis like this judgment is very important. So for patients with FSGS, treatment should focus on immune regulation in order to achieve a good effect.

Overview of FSGS

It is short for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis that means some sections of kidney filters are scarred. After reading this explanation, you can know the general situation about this disease. How does FSGS associate with immunological disease?

Due to unhealthy diet or life style, their immune system is out of order and patients’ immunity is lower than before. In this physical condition, people are very easy to suffer diseases, such as infections or a cold. If their innate immune system is good, immune complexes formed during infections will be removed by immune cells. However, in patients with FSGS, the immune
complexes have to stay in body and would arouse renal failure once they deposit in kidney tissues.

Inflammatory mediators will accumulate around immune complexes in kidney tissues in order to remove them. However, this inflammation will hurt kidney tissues meanwhile. When kidney cells are damaged, the filtering ability cannot be done normally. Many valuable substances in the blood will be leaked from the blood. Furthermore, over time the kidney filters would be scarring and cause loss of kidney function. Once they lose about 50%, FSGS is coming.

Immunotherapy is the correct treatment for immunological disease—FSGS. It mainly contains Immunodepression, immune regulation and immune protection.

Immunodepression will give patients some immunosuppressive agents to restrain renal inflammation in order to protect kidney cells. Furthermore, these agents are regularly needed to keep a good situation in kidneys. However, kidney cannot tolerate immune complexes for a long time. Immune regulation is essential to turn immune system to normal so as to block renal inflammation from the root. If the kidney has a serious hurt, immune protection is provided. It adopts Immunotherapy which does not only provide new kidney cells but also rebuild a new immune system to keep healthy for a long time.

FSGS is Chronic Nephritis in Kidney

Many people are not familiar with FSGS and they know nothing about FSGS but a type of nephritis. It is the abbreviation of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis which is very common in children and adult. In order to treat FSGS, we must know its own characteristics and which treatment is suitable for it.

What is FSGS after all?

Kidney is the main organ to filter the blood and form urine. How to achieve that? In kidneys, there are more than two million glomeruli which are like numerous griddles to help kidney to filter blood. If most of the glomeruli are health, kidneys can function well. So the end waste products and excessive water can be discharged through the filtration of griddles.

However, FSGS means that less than 50% of glomeruli have been destroyed, which is a kind of nephritis. Besides, many kidney tissues have been dead and turned into scars in kidneys. The scars seem that on the skin. There will be no blood or oxygen supplied to the scars. So most part of kidneys has no blood vessels and cannot form urine. In this way, many toxic substances cannot be removed from the body.

What are the common symptoms of FSGS?

FSGS is considered as a type of nephritis which often occurs in children and young people. And males have more risk to suffer FSGS than females. More than two thirds patients have a large amount of proteinuria and severe swelling. Their 24 hours proteinuria is between 1g to 30g. While, more than 50% of patients have hematuria and microscopic hematuria presents in most cases. FSGS develops very quickly and usually patients would go into renal failure or ESRF in one or two years. So patients should receive an effective treatment in the early stage in order to prevent the serious condition.

Why Creatinine Matters and What to Do about That

People with Renal Failure or ESRD live with high levels of creatinine. Elevated creatinine appears almost exclusively in people with the disease. Those patients are told that their creatinine level are dangerously high but don’t know what does that means or affects. If you are really a truth digger, then this may be the right article for you.

Creatinine is the metabolic product stemming from the muscle metabolism. It is excreted by kidneys exclusively, that’s why creatinine becomes the detection marker of kidney damages. A serum creatinine test can tell you how well your kidneys function, while a creatinine urine test measures the creatinine in your urine.

Ostensibly, the reason why creatinine would increase is due to malfunctioned kidneys failing to excrete urine. Substantially, it is caused by kidney fibrosis. The kidney fibrosis results from the occurrence of phenotype transformation as a result of damaged renal intrinsic cells. Fibroblasts change myofibroblasts on account of the stimulation of changes mentioned before. Meanwhile, healthy renal tissues are impaired and develop pathological changes. Consequently, Renal Failure appears in the end.

Due to the progressive damages of kidneys, one’s kidney function decreases accordingly. Of course, the excretory function declines and results in elevated creatinine. Moreover, other indexes such as serum creatinine and urea nitrogen rise too. High blood pressure and swelling attack in most of the patients with Renal Failure or kidney diseases.

After realizing how creatinine increases, you must want to know how to lower high levels of creatinine?

Some may already get the point that lowering the creatinine shouldn’t be the ultimate goal, compared with improving one’s kidney function, decreasing the high levels of creatinine should only be secondary. Because decreased kidney function or malfunctioned kidneys are the major culprits accounting for high levels of creatinine.

Good Diet Suggestions to FSGS

Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a rare disease that attacks the kidney’s filtering system (glomeruli) causing serious scarring. FSGS is one of the causes of a serious condition known as Nephrotic Syndrome.

What will happen if I have FSGS?

The outcome is very variable, and you will need to ask your specialist how things are likely to be in your case. The possibilities are:

It may continue unchanged for many years, requiring only regular check-ups with blood tests.

It may go away on its own in some cases.

If there is fluid retention with ankle swelling, this may get worse.

In some cases kidney failure develops, leading to the question of dialysis or transplantation.

What is the good diet to FSGS patients?

Sodium:

• Too much sodium can contribute to high blood pressure and edema

• Most sodium in our diet comes from processed foods and salt

• We have learned to like salt and it takes time to unlearn the preference for salt

• Most people consume too much sodium on a daily basis

Protein:

• We need protein for overall health, muscle maintenance, and to fight infections

• Research has not absolutely proved benefit of low protein diet to preserve kidney function

• Goal is moderate protein intake, but consult with a nephrologist

• Good sources of protein are lean meats, will trimmed poultry, eggs (limit 2 per week), fish, shellfish, beans, and nuts

limit fat and cholesterol:

• Limit whole eggs to 2 per week, use egg substitutes or whites only

• Use lean meats, well trimmed, poultry w/o skin, fish, shellfish, beans, nuts

• Use healthy oils such as olive, canola, safflower, sunflower

• Limit saturated fats (dairy, animal fat) and eliminate trans fat (partially hydrogenated oils found in processed and fast food)

What to Expect Once Dialysis Is Stopped

Dialysis is lifesaving when one suffers from Renal Failure or ESRD (End-stage Renal Disease). However, receive or not is all one’s own call. If somebody refuses or decides to withdraw dialysis, then what to expect once dialysis is stopped?

Without dialysis death will occur shortly after you get ESRD or withdraw from the treatment. This is mostly because toxins build up in the blood causing uremia. A series of physical and emotional changes occur as uremia develops. This is your own way to prepare. In most cases of Renal Failure, patients passed away all peaceful and pain-free, which is a great relief for their families.

Understanding the certain symptoms and changes around the corner helps patients’ friends, family and patients themselves to deal with the situation better. A series of physical and emotional changes can be:

▪ Loss of appetite

Same things happen as one’s illness condition progresses to CRF or CKD stage 4 (same thing with different names). Maybe you have already lived with it or maybe it’s new to you. Anyway, it probably will happen once your dialysis is withdrawn.

▪ Visions of people who no longer or don’t exist at all

This is probably caused by the buildup of toxins or metabolic products in your body affecting your nervous system, and then the vision appears.

▪ Don’t remember people you are familiar with, such as friends, families and even yourself.

It develops as a result of toxins affecting nervous system. As you read such a message, you may feel like heartbreaking or something. I know this is hard for you, but we suppose to support and respect his or her decision, don’t we?

▪ Changes in breathing and skin.

Changes in breathing signals decreased circulation in the internal organs, other reason may explain this change is the accumulated toxins affect other organs, for instance, heart and lung leading to the failure of other organs.

They may experience itching skin, desquamation and color changes. All those changes result from toxins accumulating in the body.

How to Prevent the Relapse of Pediatric Nephrotic Syndrome

Nephrotic Syndrome is a common childhood illness featured by massive proteinuria, hyperlipidemia, hypoalbuminemia and edema. NS is a disease of relapse and it is a major problem to manage the cases with frequent relapse. So it is very important to take measures to prevent the relapse of Pediatric Nephrotic Syndrome.

What is a relapse of Pediatric Nephrotic Syndrome?

This is shown by a recurrence of Urine Protein for at least 7 days. Untreated, oedema will occur later. Daily testing can help us detect the recurrence before oedema develops. Many relapses appear due to a cold.

Generally, relapses occur in 75 percent of children with NS, particular in the first 2 years. This can be caused due to lowered dose of medicines or the treatment has been stopped.

How to prevent the relapse of Pediatric Nephrotic Syndrome?

Firstly, adopt the combined therapy of Chinese - Western medicine.

Western medicine can relieve the symptoms which can solve the problem of low effect of Chinese prescription. In addition, Chinese herbal remedy, Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, is applied to block kidney damage, improve the supply of blood and oxygen to the damaged renal cells, reduce further impairment of renal cells.

Moreover, Immunotherapy is applied to regenerate new healthy cells to replace the necrotic one so as to restore the renal function. The whole immune system is rebuilt, and the disease is not easy to recur.

Secondly, arrange a proper diet, and avoid crapulence in cold food.

Follow the dietary principles given be the doctor. Watch out for your child's addicted to ice cream or other cold foods. All of them will trigger gastrointestinal disorder, diarrhea and enteritis. These condition will induce the relapse of the NS.

Finally, have enough rest.

Enough rest is of great importance for enhancing the strength, improving the body's immune ability against germs like virus or bacteria.

How to Reduce Protein in Urine Due to Nephrotic Syndrome (NS)

Healthy kidneys are responsible for cleansing our blood. The kidney is made up of millions of small filtering units-glomeruli. In these filtering units, waste products and excess fluid pass through the filter and are removed into the urine, whereas the substances that are useful to the body like proteins, blood cells, etc don't pass the filter and remain in the blood.

Nephrotic Syndrome is an immunological disease caused due to low immunity or abnormal immune system. Patient's immune system fails to defends the body against what it perceives to be foreign or dangerous substances. In this condition, immune complex will be formed after the germs that invaded into the body bind with the antibodies produced by the immune system.

There are special epitopes in the kidneys that attract the immune complex, so more and more immune complexes will get deposited in the kidneys, causing damage to the filters and the glomeruli become leaky. This causes a loss of protein into urine (proteinuria).

How to reduce protein in urine due to NS?

Once people with NS detect protein in urine, they should take prompt treatment. If the underlying cause is not eliminated, the kidneys may be damaged further. Treating proteinuria is one way to maintain a healthy kidney.

Immunotherapy is available to cure protein in urine:

▪ New immunosuppressive drugs --restrain the abnormal immune response;

▪ Immune tolerance -- avoid further kidney damage;

Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy -- promote renal blood circulation, eliminate the deposits of immune complex in glomeruli, and accelerate the kidney repair;

Immunotherapy -- restore the kidney function and rebuild the immune system.
